Booking Conditions

As with any other reservation you make, or order you place, there are conditions / small print - often in a foreign language (English legalese, French ...) or hidden away so you never see them.

Ours are different : the print is full sized and we've prepared a plain English translation for our English speaking guests ! They are based upon standard booking conditions used by many French letting agents.

The main points are summarised below. To download the full set of conditions (in their original French or in English translation) click the links below.

Summary of Main Points :

1. You make your booking by sending us a completed Booking Form and a booking deposit of 25% of the rental due. In doing so you are confirming your acceptance of our Booking Conditions

2. The remaining payment is due 8 weeks before the start of your holiday (or on booking if within 8 weeks), including :

* full payment of rental due (less any booking deposit already paid)

* £100 (€145) per booking breakages/excess cleaning deposit ("dépôt de garantie" under French law), which will be returned to you within 7 days after the end of your holiday, less any deductions for : breakages; excessive cleaning that is needed or gite telephone charges incurred. If you pay by credit card, we simply collect this with your final payment, and return it direct to your card within 7 days.

3. Repeat guests, who have stayed in any of our holiday properties before, do not need to pay any breakages/excess cleaning deposit at all - all we ask is that you promise to pay for any breakages etc !

4. Unfortunately, if we haven't received the full balance of any monies due 8 weeks before the holiday starts, we have to reserve the right to cancel the booking, let the property to someone else and retain your booking deposit.

5 If you cancel the holiday then we will charge the following :

* However, excluding July/August bookings, if you want to book well in advance and plan to fly, but your air tickets are not on sale yet, provided you state that on your Booking Form if you then find that no suitable air tickets are available for your dates of travel, we will happily transfer your booking deposit to another booking of any of our properties (subject to availability), or give you a "credit note" if you do not wish to rebook immediately

We will try to let the property to someone else, and if successful we will just retain the booking deposit and return all other monies to you.

5. More for your protection that ours, you should have appropriate travel (or other) insurance.

6. For the gite : swimming pools are great fun, but of course they can also be dangerous. In signing the Booking Form, you are accepting that use of the pool (particularly any diving) is at your own risk - please take care ! We have installed a pool perimeter alarm that conforms to French safety standard NF P 90-307, but this is no substitute for personal responsibility for safety.
